Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station Instrument Firmware S2.6.5 release notes

Introduction

These release notes contain information about the Trimble® SX10 Scanning Total Station firmware version S2.6.5. This firmware version is available for install and download using Trimble Installation Manager.

Upgrading Firmware

If you have a Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station running an older version of firmware, you can upgrade to version S2.6.5 yourself by following the steps of the Firmware Update Procedure.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  1. It is not possible to install a firmware version that is prior to the firmware version your specific instrument shipped with.
  2. Once version S2.6.5 is installed, it is not possible to downgrade to a version lower than S2.2.52, if not in violation of the rule above.
Checking current firmware version

You can check your Instrument’s version of firmware using Trimble Access field software.

      1. Turn on the Trimble SX10 Scanning Total.
      2. Connect to the Trimble SX10 using a licensed Trimble Access controller/computer and launch General Survey.
            a. Navigate to Instrument Instrument settings
                  i. Here you will see the Instrument name, serial number, firmware version and Wi-Fi channel.
                        
Using the Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station with other Trimble Products

Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station firmware version S2.6.5 is compatible with the following Trimble survey field software:

  1. Trimble Access 2017.21 or later
  2. Trimble Access SDK
  3. Trimble Precision SDK
Note: For service interval warnings, Trimble Access 2017.20 or later is required
Note: For in-field camera calibration functionality, Trimble Access 2018.20 or later is required
Note: For Wi-Fi channel selection functionality, Trimble Access 2019.00 or later is required
IMPORTANT: This version of Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station firmware is not compatible with versions of Trimble survey field software older than those listed above. Please take note of the following information before upgrading your Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station. Older controllers that you already own might need to be upgraded to their latest versions. Note that this will require a valid software warranty agreement for the Trimble survey field software. Please contact your local Trimble representative for more information regarding software warranties. Please check the release notes for the respective Trimble survey office software for more specific product information. Trimble always recommends that customers regularly check www.trimble.com and Trimble Installation Manager for the latest versions of software and firmware for all of their Trimble products.

  1. Stability improvements for monitoring applications when used with Trimble 4D Control and Settop M1
  2. Added support for new hardware revisions of components
      Version S2.5.6 – March 2022
  1. Added support for new revisions of service components
      Version S2.4.35 – June 2021
  1. Resolution of an issue with poor video performance when paired with Trimble Access version 2019 or older. This issue was only in version S2.4.30
  2. Improvements to avoid "no communications" issues related to the IPCR 3 board and memory failures
  3. Added support for Tilt component serviceability
  4. Includes all updates from S2.4.30
