TSC7 Controller Touch Mode Application disappearing from Taskbar
TRIMBLE TSC7 CONTROLLER: TOUCH CONTROL APPLICATION DISAPPEARING FROM THE SYSTEM TRAY
An issue has been identified whereby the Touch Control application which is installed on the Trimble® TSC7 controller becomes unusable and is no longer available in the System Tray. When this occurs, it is not possible to change the touchscreen mode between the various settings and the touchscreen generally reverts to Finger Mode—using a stylus becomes difficult or impossible.
Solution
To recover the Touch Control application, uninstall and reinstall it.
To uninstall the application:
- Go to Settings / Apps / Apps & features.
- Type Touch in the Search list field, or scroll down to the Touch Control app.
- Tap the Touch Control application icon and select Uninstall.
- Accept any messages related to the uninstall and restart the device if prompted.
To install the application:
- Download the latest Touch Control app from here
- Copy the zip file onto the TSC7 controller to a local folder (if using an external USB flash drive).
- Extract the setup file to a local folder.
- Run the Setup application from the newly extracted folder.
- Accept any Windows messages associated to installing the Setup file.
- Restart the TSC7 controller when prompted.
- Once the app has begun at startup, you can open the Touch Control application from the System Tray and change to the desired mode.
Trimble is working on a permanent solution for this problem.
