TSC7 Installation Instructions for the B23-T OS Driver & App Package
TRIMBLE RANGER 7 DATA COLLECTOR AND TRIMBLE TSC7 CONTROLLER: OS B23-T DRIVER & APP PACKAGE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This support note explains how to install the package containing the drivers and apps that come preloaded with the Trimble® OS Image version B23-T. This Trimble operating system is the most current, custom OS image for the Trimble Ranger® 7 and TSC7 devices; it includes the Microsoft® Windows® version 1803/RS4, the drivers that are required for specific hardware components on Ranger 7 / TSC7 devices, and the Trimble EMPOWER components required for proper operation of EMPOWER modules.
Most devices in the field that have the latest Microsoft updates will already be updated to the Microsoft 1803 build that is contained in Trimble OS B23-T. Those devices only need to install the driver/app package to update the drivers and EMPOWER components not automatically updated by Microsoft. All Windows components are updated via the Microsoft update method.
To determine which OS version you have installed, go to Start / Settings / System / About, or Control Panel / System and Security / System. If you have OS B19.2-T, you can use this driver update package to install the latest drivers and apps that came with OS B23-T as an alternative to installing the full Trimble B23-T OS. Installing the driver package may be a better alternative, especially if your Microsoft updates are current, as this installer does not require you to re-install the updates or your Trimble software. Uploading the driver package is also faster than installing the full B23-T OS, and it may resolve a range of issues with the device.

Instructions
1. Save your work and close all applications.
NOTE: The device will automatically reboot when the installation is complete. Installation will take about 10 minutes.
2. Download the driver update executable file from

Download it directly to the Ranger 7 / TSC7 device or transfer it to the device using a USB drive.\
3. Launch the executable file on the Ranger 7 / TSC7 device.
4. In the User Account Control window, tap Yes:
5. The WinZip Self-Extractor message displays. Tap OK:
6. On the following dialog, tap Setup:
The WinZip Self-Extractor starts to unzip the files:
The installation begins and a progress of what is updating displays:
Several messages will display during installations, such as Touch Panel Disabled and Reboot Required; these are normal and can be ignored.
7. When the installation is complete, the Ranger 7 / TSC7 device will automatically reboot and finalize the installations.
