INSTRUMENT FIRMWARE S2.6.14 RELEASE NOTES TRIMBLE

Introduction

These release notes contain information about the Trimble® SX12 Scanning Total Station firmware version S2.6.14. This firmware version is available for install and download using Trimble Installation Manager.

Upgrading Firmware

If you have a Trimble SX12 Scanning Total Station running an older version of firmware, you can upgrade to version S2.6.14 yourself by following the steps of the Firmware Update Procedure.

NOTE: It is not possible to install a firmware version that is prior to the firmware version your specific instrument shipped with.

Checking current firmware version

You can check your Instrument’s version of firmware using Trimble Access field software.

1.       Turn on the Trimble SX12 Scanning Total.

2.       Connect to the Trimble SX12 using a licensed Trimble Access controller/computer and launch General Survey.

a.       Navigate to Instrument    Instrument settings.

i.       Here you will see the Instrument name, serial number, firmware version and Wi-Fi channel.


Using the Trimble SX12 Scanning Total Station with other Trimble Products

Trimble SX12 Scanning Total Station firmware version S2.6.14 is compatible with the following Trimble survey field software:

●     Trimble Access 2021.00 or later

●     Trimble Access SDK

●     Trimble Precision SDK

 

IMPORTANT: This version of Trimble SX12 Scanning Total Station firmware is not compatible with versions of Trimble survey field software older than 2021.00.

Older controllers that you already own might need to be upgraded to their latest versions. Note that this will require a valid software warranty agreement for the Trimble survey field software. Please contact your local Trimble representative for more information regarding software warranties.

Please check the release notes for the respective Trimble survey office software for more specific product information.

Trimble always recommends that customers regularly check www.trimble.com and Trimble Installation Manager for the latest versions of software and firmware for all of their Trimble products.

 

New Features / Enhancements / Resolved Issues

The Trimble SX12 Scanning Total Station firmware version S2.6.14 includes the following new features and enhancements:

Version S2.6.14 – August 2022

●     Stability improvements for monitoring applications when used with Trimble 4D Control and Settop M1

●     Added support for new hardware revisions of components.

NOTE: This FW has an updated FPGA, which may increase firmware update duration by several minutes. Be patient.

 

Version S2.5.4 – February 2022

●     Camera improvements

●     Updates to support new hardware components for production of units

●     Resolved "Error code 5056" service case for SX12

NOTE: This FW has an updated FPGA, which may increase firmware update duration by several minutes. Be patient.

 

Version S2.4.36 – October 2021

●     Updates to support new hardware components for production of units
